Opening Doors. Building Futures.
P.E.I.’s first targeted proactive, preventative & fully holistic healing and supportive community for vulnerable youth 16-30.
Providing Transitional Housing • Employment Skill Training • Mental Health and Addiction Prevention Support • Community Mentorship
Focused on long term housing success, holistic, economic and mental health stability rather than emergency measures. This model based on the Global Wheel of Wellness addresses every area of healing required, client led, that contributes to future well-being.

All provinces in Canada including P.E.I. and our communities, are witnessing increases in homelessness, mental health and addiction issues and the increase in these challenges begin to occur and present challenges mainly between 16 and 24 years of age.
People experienced homelessness as a young adult (aged 18-24).
“The earlier a person first experiences homelessness, the more likely they are to experience chronic homelessness later in life. For example, 78% of respondents who experienced homelessness for the first time as a child were experiencing chronic homelessness on the night of the count.” Homelessness Data Snapshot: Youth homelessness in Canada. 70 % of persons living with a mental illness see symptoms before age 18. Mental illness affects some 1.2 million of our children and youth. By age 25, that number rises to 7.5 million (about one in five Canadians).
Youth with mental health conditions are significantly more likely to develop a substance use disorder; 70% of people with a mental illness experienced symptoms before age 18. CAMH
Therefore, a preventative, comprehensive model is needed to lessen the likelihood of young adults becoming homeless and struggling with addiction, unemployment and increased mental health challenges.
Angel’s Crossing unique model has been created and designed to support increased needs in P.E.I.
Working with community partners and agencies already doing work in the area of homelessness, addiction and mental health, this is a model that intervenes, prevents and fills the gaps where individuals struggle as they heal, move forward to live successfully in and contribute to their communities.
With a unique and comprehensive, all under one roof model, individuals will obtain everything they need for successful independent living. Based on the Global Wheel of Wellness, all areas of life will be addressed and supported for healing.
Many initiatives related to substance use recovery focus on acute care. The people they serve are just beginning a journey. Because we meet people committed to their paths of wellness, we do not offer early-recovery interventions like detox or safe use facilities. Residents will have already accessed those earlier interventions and arrive with the goal of ensuring that they can find life-long success in recovery, healing and workforce success.
This is also a community space: Our model is to ensure that the community as a whole is part of what we mean when we say “together.” From our onsite restaurant and bakery, gardens, trails, education and event centre to our “Angel Generations in Action” program with seniors, we embody true healing in community.
Angel’s Crossing is open to:
Community members 16-30 who have recently completed a detox or primary care program.
Young adults completing the Strength Program or those ageing out of Provincial Residential Homes.
Those who are seeking continued supports to maintain successful independent living.
We do not offer early intervention programming such as detox or safe use facilities.
Our program will be designed for individuals who have completed a treatment program or initial detox if there is substance misuse.
We are excited to welcome young adults looking for a stable, supportive environment as they continue their recovery journey overcoming whatever previous challenges have presented in their lives.
Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and the surrounding community is a top priority. Angel’s Crossing will have on-site 24/7 case management support and overnight security, to maintain safety for all residents.
In addition, Angel Crossing residents will commit to a good-neighbor policy based in respect and kindness. This isn’t just about safety, but about building more vibrant and friendly community connections by contributing in a wide range of ways through our Social Development Model.
Funding will be from a combination of private donations, grants, fundraisers and partnerships with organizations and government dedicated to youth futures, addiction recovery, mental health and workforce/skill development.
In addition, our variety of onsite social enterprises will be a strong contributing factor to long term sustainability.
We expect the majority of residents will be referred by community partners. While we are still in the early stages, we are currently working to ensure a thoughtful and accessible application process. Once our applications open, all details will be available on our website.
